Who we are
Transformer Buyers, Not Brokers
MJ Electrical Transformers Buyers buys used, surplus and decommissioned electrical transformers with our own money and hauls them on our own freight. Transformers are the only equipment we buy.

You are paid before the transformer leaves your property. No consignment, no waiting on a resale.
We do not ask you to test, repair or clean anything. We evaluate the unit ourselves.
We cover the freight and the rigging. Lowboys, cribbing, permits and escorts are our cost.
Disconnection, dismantling and removal are handled by our crews at our expense.
What we do
We buy transformers from the people who end up owning them by accident: contractors clearing a jobsite, plant managers after a voltage upgrade, property owners who inherited a unit with a building, demolition crews stripping a site, and liquidators with unsold lots. In almost every case the unit has been sitting long enough to become an annoyance.
Our position in that transaction is simple. We pay you upfront, before anything moves. We do not ask you to test the unit, clean it, repair it, or move it to a loading dock. Teardown, rigging, permits, fluid handling and freight are our cost and our responsibility.
Why we only buy transformers
Because pricing a used transformer well requires knowing what a specific rating and voltage pair is worth to somebody who needs it next month and cannot wait a year for a new one. That knowledge does not generalise. A dealer who buys every kind of surplus equipment has to price conservatively; a scrap yard prices by the pound because it has no resale channel at all.
Narrowing to one product class is what lets us commit to a firm cash number the same day and still absorb the freight. It also means we will tell you honestly when a unit genuinely is scrap-grade, because we have no incentive to pretend otherwise.
How we work
- Our own money. No consignment, no brokering, no waiting on a resale.
- Our own freight, staged regionally so distance is our problem rather than a deduction from your price.
- Firm written offers that are not re-traded when the truck arrives.
- Payment before the unit leaves your property, every time.
- Honest classification between resale-grade and scrap-grade.
- Proper documentation, including PCB status basis on oil-filled units.
