What moves the number on a Schneider Electric unit

Do you only buy Schneider Electric transformers?
No. We buy transformers from every manufacturer. Brand affects the resale pool and therefore the price, but it never determines whether we are interested.
My Schneider Electric nameplate is unreadable. Is that a problem?
Not a serious one. Photograph the unit anyway. Construction, dimensions, bushing arrangement and tank style tell us a great deal, and we can often identify the rating from other markings.
Are older Schneider Electric units worth anything?
Frequently yes. Age matters far less than rating, voltage and condition. Units from the 1960s and 1970s were built heavy and many remain in service today.
